Writing is organized thinking on behalf of persuasion

“Writing is organized thinking on behalf of persuasion” reads a line in a Seth Godin blog post. Simple, elegant, thoughtful definition.  But where is the art in that? Neither organized or rational are good appellatives of any artistic endeavor. Persuasive? Perhaps; actually, certainly. Art is, above all, persuasion.
