Seek to achieve, not to succeed. Achievements are personal victories in battles we deemed important for our personal growth. Success is exogenous, it’s bestowed by those who share common goals.
When setting off on a path towards self improvement it’s important to identify goals that a are congruent with the person that we want to become, and not with the stereotype that is imposed by society.
Once we are able to visualize who we want to become, which aspects of our life we want to change, only then we will have clear goals to pursue. Those are the goals we will try to achieve, for our own sake and no one else’s.
We should not expect any outside recognition of our achievements, even less for our efforts, but the steps we take towards those goals shall become the currency through which we measure our self worth, our integrity.
